Who we are.

In 1987, a group of wildlife enthusiasts got together and founded the Association with a goal of promoting an appreciation for wildlife through carving.

Our show has been featured in Wildfowl Carving and Competition magazine, published in the USA on numerous occasions. This is a wonderful accomplishment, as only a few competitions from across North America are featured in this publication each year!

Today, Prairie Canada's goal remains the same and we continue to support and promote our love of carving and appreciation of wildlife through our annual Show and Competition. Over the years, our competition has grown to showcase a variety of carvings of wildlife (waterfowl, song and shorebirds, decoys), traditional carving (whittling, relief & chip carving, caricatures, animals or human form), fish and pyrography, in all forms of art media - wood, stone, bark, bone, and antler.

The Prairie Canada Carving Competition has not only grown in size, but has developed into one of North America's premiere competitions.
